Guidelines

The three-year competition is composed of four rounds. To compete, teams must first register on researcher.ae and then create a team for ReThink Brine challenge. Once registered, teams must submit the summary proposal required for the first Round and before the first deadline.

Once the shortlisted teams move to Round 2, the team must submit a detailed proposal 5 months after the first deadline detailing their approach. Therefore, we encourage teams to begin designing their approach and thinking about their technology at the earliest opportunity.

Detailed proposals will be evaluated by our panel of experts and a maximum of 5 teams will then progress to Round 3. Each of the 5 teams will receive a milestone prize of AED 25K to develop their prototype.

The teams will then have 5 months to develop their prototype which will be evaluated by a judging panel and up to 3 teams will proceed to round 4. Each of the 3 teams will receive a milestone prize of AED 250K to develop the final product and deliver the proof of concept while competing for the grand prize of AED 2.5 million.

Further details can be found below and more details will be provided after Round 2.
